Ijeoma Nnodim


Dr. Ijeoma Jane Nnodim Popularly called "Pikin Doctor" is a hearing-impaired Pediatrician with 15 years of medical practice. Born in Lagos 41 years ago, she is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians. She is the founder of Dr. Ijeoma Healthy Kids’ Community, a thriving Facebook Community of over 7,000 members, with a large percentage being persons with disabilities (PWDs). She educates on children’s health in an easy-to-understand way that also carries along hearing-impaired and other PWDs.  She is passionate about ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind in having access to Universal Healthcare and has worked with several organizations in providing health education to PWDs. Dr. Nnodim has undergone several trainings and has certifications from the University of Washington in Leadership and Management in Health, and also Epidemiology and Global Health among others. She is a member of several organizations including Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria. Born with severe-profound hearing loss, she has been able to surmount the odds and is a role model to several young women and men with similar challenge.
